AREQUIPA

Arequipa, at 2335 masl in the southern zone of Peru, shows the cultural and natural diversity in its deep canyons like Cotahuasi and Colca becoming one of the most beautiful places of this place. In addition, it has wonderful beaches, inlets and snowy mountains, keeping intact its historical, religious and ancestral legacy.

The story tells that the Arequipa territory was established by the Inca Mayta Cápac (fourth Inca), the same one who arrived with all his guard and was accepted by the settlers, who answered him in Quechua the phrase "ari qipay", which means "yes , stay. " The first inhabitants of Arequipa were those of the Wari Empire, followed by the Churajón Culture, who introduced activities such as: cultivation, irrigation and agriculture.
